GTAS Foundation Statement of Faith

  • We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Each of these three persons is equal in every divine perfection, and together they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption. - Genesis 1:1, John 1:1, Matthew 3:16-17, John 4:24, Romans 1:19, 2 Corinthians 13:14, Ephesians 4:5-6

  • That there is only one God - the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, all-knowing, all-powerful, all loving, and all wise. - Isaiah 45:5-6, Genesis 1:1, Psalm 147:5, Matthew 19:26, Psalm 136:26, Romans 11:33:

  • That Jesus Christ is the only Son of God who died for our sins and rose from the dead.  - 1 Cor 15:1-8

  • That the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is authoritative in teaching, reproof, correction, and training in righteousness.” - 2 Timothy 3:16

  • That every person has worth as a creation of God, but that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23

  • That forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are available to those who trust Christ as Savior and Lord. - John 3:16

  • That those accepting Christ should repent of sin, confess their sin, and be baptized in Him. -Romans 10:9 -Acts 2:38

  • That God’s Kingdom is here on earth but has not been fully established. We are called in God’s mission to create the Kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven. Matt. 6:10

  • That all Christians, as disciples of Christ, should deny themselves and their old sinful nature and seek to live under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Galatians 5:16-26

  • That God calls us to both holiness and grace. This inspires us to be firm on the major theological issues but to show grace in minor theological issues. We are further called to humility and forgiveness. John 8:11 

  • That the church is the body of Christ on Earth and exists to gather together to worship Jesus, to study the Word together, encourage one another, and represent Him to the world. Ephesians 4:1-6, Acts 2:46-47

  • That every person has been given gifts and talents to be used in personal ministry and the construction of God’s Kingdom. Romans 12:6-8

  • That we show our love for Jesus by how we treat the least of these. Matthew 25:40-45

  • That we are to hold one another accountable for how our actions affect those in our ministry and are called to encourage each other to be more like Christ. Proverbs Proverbs 27:17,  Hebrews 10:25

  • That Jesus Christ will one day return to Earth and reign forever as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. - 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
